Sage CO2, a Herbaceous CO2 Extracted Oil
A rich amber fluid, it is a naturally anti-bacterial oil that also supports a healthy circulation when used in massage. It is naturally astringent so is good to use in home-made skin balancing treatments such as a face treatment oil; choose jojoba as a base oil as it’s easily absorbed into skin. Sage is also known for supporting healthy memory and cognitive functions, so it’s supportive for people who may be struggling in this area.
What is the difference between a CO2 Select and CO2 Total Extract?
Total extracts – These require higher pressure and low temperatures during extraction, with the resultant extract containing a high proportion of compounds such as fatty acids, waxes, resins, and any plant pigments. The oil is similar in nature to a complete extraction of all the Phyto-botanical materials. They are often semi solid or solid and must be gently warmed to use them like a liquid.
Select extracts – Require low pressure and low temperature with the resultant liquid/extract being made up of only volatile material. This method avoids thermal degradation, avoids oxidation and the result can be used like an essential oil. The oil differs from the distilled or solvent extracted version as it can have a very different chemical composition. Select extracts contain between 35% to 95% essential oil along with fatty acids and other fatty substances.

This Sage CO2 Extract has been grown in Albania, then tested on site at our Hampshire laboratories to ensure excellent quality.
In addition, none of the Absolute Aromas products are tested on animals, and all are vegan and free from GM materials.
How to use Sage CO2 Extract
Diffuse Sage Co2 Extract with a couple of drops of Geranium for a mind boosting environment – great for a study or work space. When combining CO2 Extracts with base lotions or carrier oils, bear in mind that they are very concentrated forms of botanical extracts so a ratio of 1-3% is recommended.
TO NOTE: Do not use in pregnancy or when breastfeeding. Do a patch test 24 hours prior to first use to test for sensitivities and always use diluted at the correct ratio. Not suitable for use on children.
