HOW TO USE

Throughout history, Curcuma has been used in ancient and Ayurvedic medicine, to soothe muscle injuries and sprains.  It’s therefore the perfect ingredient to use in massage blends as its spicy warmth penetrates and soothes muscles.  You can try it in a footbath too – a couple of drops in warm water with some honey to disperse it evenly can be soothing and naturally cleansing to keep feet fresh.

TO NOTE:  Do not use in pregnancy or when breastfeeding.  Do a patch test 24 hours prior to first use to test for sensitivities and always use diluted at the correct ratio.  Not suitable for use on children.

Key Features

  • CO2 EXTRACT -CO2 extraction is a process using pressurised CO2 to extract all botanical materials from the plant, creating a pure, clean, high-quality oil with no solvent residue. CO2 extracts are generally more representative of the original plant material than oils extracted by other means such as steam distillation or solvent extraction.
  • AROMATHERAPY – Curcuma CO2 extract is a warm, spicy and almost earthy scented oil and is a wonderful addition to massage blends. Blend Grapeseed oil with 2 drops of Curcuma CO2 extract, 1 drop of Clove and 2 of Ginger CO2 extract for a comforting and tension soothing massage oil.

  • HOW TO USE – A few drops of skin saviour Argan oil with two drops of Curcuma can make an amazing skin treatment.  Massage into your face to benefit from its naturally occurring antibacterial qualities and leave on overnight.  The Argan oil will boost skin condition and nourish deeply.  Be aware that due to its rich colour this extract can leave golden marks on bedding!
  • QUALITY – 100% Pure and natural, premium quality CO2 Curcuma Extract. Vegan, GMO-free, cruelty-free, and sustainably sourced from Java. Latin name: Curcuma xanthorrhiza

What is the difference between a CO2 Select and CO2 Total Extract?

Total extracts – These require higher pressure and low temperatures during extraction, with the resultant extract containing a high proportion of compounds such as fatty acids, waxes, resins, and any plant pigments. The oil is similar in nature to a complete extraction of all the Phyto-botanical materials. They are often semi solid or solid and must be gently warmed to use them like a liquid.
Select extracts – Require low pressure and low temperature with the resultant liquid/extract being made up of only volatile material. This method avoids thermal degradation, avoids oxidation and the result can be used like an essential oil. The oil differs from the distilled or solvent extracted version as it can have a very different chemical composition. Select extracts contain between 35% to 95% essential oil along with fatty acids and other fatty substances.

Why is our Curcuma CO2 Extract so great?

To source the best oil suppliers, we travel the world and only opt for oils from controlled, sustainable sources that have little or no negative impact on the environment. This Curcuma has been grown and distilled in Java, then tested on site at our Hampshire laboratories to ensure excellent quality.

In addition, none of the Absolute Aromas products are tested on animals, and all are vegan and free from GM materials.
